Evolution of Programming language

Description

This document provides a history of the evolution of programming languages from the 19th century to present day. It discusses early languages like the Analytical Engine, assembly languages, and early high-level languages like FORTRAN, Lisp, and COBOL developed in the 1950s-60s. Popular languages that followed include BASIC, Pascal, C, C++, Perl, Python, PHP, Java, JavaScript, C#, and Scala. More recently introduced languages aimed at big data and mobile/web development include Go, Dart, Kotlin, and Swift. The development of programming languages continues in order to meet new computing needs and paradigms.
